Every now and then you hear horrific stories about encounters between people and animals. They usually end up not so well for those who dare to go in the wilderness without proper knowledge.
Did you know that cheetahs are the fastest animal? They can reach speeds between 68 and 75 miles per hour, and (brace yourself) they accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds. This is pretty impressive, and, trust me, you don’t want to meet a cheetah in the wild. These animals are fierce predators and they will eat their prey immediately after the kill. But this story you’re about to see has a strange twist and can be easily considered an exception.
Dolph Volker is a volunteer at the Cheetah Experience in South Africa. This is an organization that rescues wild animals and they are engaged in the conservation of endangered species. They also provides tourists with a wilderness experience. Today, we present you Eden, a female cheetah who serves as a therapeutic companion for disabled female cheetahs that live at that park. She is known to be friendly and that she likes to cuddle, but one has to be accepted by the animal.
So, one afternoon Dolph Volker decided to take a nap on the grass, and then this really gentle cheetah joined him. Dolph was very surprised because he knows how hard it is to be (in a certain manner) accepted by these wild animals. She eventualy fell asleep in his arms.
But hey, surprises can always happen!
