Should they be taken as a message to pedestrians, drivers, the city’s administration or is it just a prank?
Several crosswalk signs were vandalized in Houston last week, according to KTRK. The “funny” part is that one of them is near a daycare center and schools.
While some passersby find them funny, some want this situation to be fixed as soon as possible.
“It needs to be changed … because there are children here,” Houston Community College student Jordan Boykins said.
Even on Facebook, the vandalized crosswalk signals started a wide range on reactions from people:
“At least people know the crosswalk works,” Courtney Lorean Tinsley wrote.
“I like this sign better especially for our very polite and educated Houstonians, perfect,” Aquilar Briceno chimed in.
“Hilarious!!! This is the type of lighthearted humor we need these days,” Preston Dermitt added.
KTRK reported that the Houston Public Works crews fixed one of the signals, and added that the necessary time to fix them depends on how bad they were vandalized.
The city said that when it comes to such acts of vandalism, it’s up to the police to investigate and bring who is responsible to justice.
