Alba Porejo defies bullies to become a model

She is 16 years old now, but she was born with over 500 birth marks all over her body. When she was a child she was brutally bullied, she was named “dalmatian” or “alien”. And after years of struggling she embraced her skin and learned to love it. And after years of struggling she embraced her skin and learned to love it, and she became a successful model. she became a successful model. She is encouraging others to do the same, to accept themselves and to find happiness.

At only 16 years old she is such an inspiration for so many people, and she found her happiness.

The spanish girl, Barcelona native, suffers from a rare condition, congenital melanocytic nevus, a condition that caused her skin to develop moles and dark patches all over her body, even her face. As an infant, she had surgery in order to correct some of the areas, but that left her with large scars on her body.

While growing up, because of the bullies she felt like a monster, until last year when she decided to embrace her skin and started to post pictures of her skin online. The positive responses gave her so much trust in herself and she became the public face for an empowerment campaign. Alba has  been featured on several magazines, billboards and she has done a number of professional photoshoots.

“I feel much more body positive and am trying to make my disease more well known in order to help other people,” she wrote on her page.
