Girl Explains Rape In 11 Tweets, And Everyone Must Read Them

I’m sure you know what a rape is, but only the victims can truly understand what it really is. Unfortunately some people don’t quite comprehend rape and tend to blame the victim. So a girl from North London decided to ‘shout it out loud’ so that everyone can hear her and wrote many tweets explaining the atrocious act. And it sure struck some chords.

Twitter user @_clvrarose (The Rose) posted 11 tweets on March 29th and told things as they are. She focused her attention to that side of rape used as defense for rapists in some cases (and it’s often ignored by others): blaming the victim. But she wants to show to the whole world that sexual assault is not the victim’s fault.

Her thread went viral, with about 7k retweets and more that 7k likes, and as expected it generated a ‘bridge’ of mutual support. All she did was to speak the truth, and tell things as they are and yes, she was heard.

If you are a victim of sexual assault or you know someone who needs help, seek legal help or call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673.
